Learn Korean: 아침부터 + WH

Let’s take a look at the Korean sentence pattern아침부터 + WH. We use this when someone does something people don’t normally do so early in the morning. Maybe, there is a better time for that. The WH question is (why). For example, I got up and went straight to the kitchen only to find my sister dancing crazily to BTS Dynamite. I said Why are you dancing so early in the morning. The main verb is 춤을 추다 (to dance). The actual sentence is 아침부터 왜 춤 추는 거야?

Another similar expression is 아까부터 왜. We use this when someone does something that is getting on our nerves because he doesn’t seem to notice it and has no intention to stop. For example, I just met someone knew and he keeps talking to me in casual language. We probably are the same age, but we are not close enough yet to be talking casually so I say 아까부터 왜 반말하는 거야? You’ve been doing that since earlier and I can’t stand it.
